STRATEGIES TO LENGTHEN THE LIFE OF YOUR CLOTHING

1.     Follow the washing guidelines on the tag inside your garment. Cold water, using the gentle washing cycle and mild detergent are recommended in the care of your garments. Turn your blouse inside out and close the zipper and button the buttons. Remove promptly at the end of the cycle. Washing by hand is always preferred if possible.

2.     Treat stains quickly. If you are out and about, cold water dabbed on the spot will help until you get home. If commercial spot remover is not available, moisten baking soda with water and sprinkle it on the stain. This is great step to start pulling the stain to the surface until you can treat it. Avoid using hot water, it may set the stain.

3.     Use a plastic hanger to dry your clothes or dry flat on a white cloth or towel. Natural fibers like to breathe. Try drying washed items in a ventilated space.

4.     Steaming is preferred for removing wrinkles. However, an iron is probably necessary for your linen blouses. Rayon fabrics are delicate and need extra care when applying heat.
